Earth Science Week 2001 Gallery - Vermont Geologic Resources: What We Use in Our Everyday Lives The Perkins Museum at University of Vermont, in conjunction with the Vermont Geological Society and the Vermont Geological Survey, sponsored the annual Earth Science Week Poster Contests in 1998-2002. Here's a sampling of some great posters by Vermont students in 2001 for the theme "Vermont Geologic Resources: What We Use in Our Everyday Lives". Nearly 1000 people participated in organized
Earth Science Week activities in 2001. People visited and hiked with
the Geologists-in-the-Parks, entered the poster contest, toured Fleming
Museum and Perkins Museum on the UVM campus, attended OMYA's Open House
at the Middlebury Quarry, and attended lectures at VINS and at ANR in
Waterbury. Below are some photographs from the week. Click
here for more 2001 posters and photos, the Governor's
Proclamation for Earth Science Week 2001, and posters
from 2000.
