STATE-WIDE EMISSIONS
INVENTORIES
The Air Planning Section
has produced a number of comprehensive criteria pollutant state-wide inventories
for specific purposes in the past. Statewide comprehensive inventories
involve a major resource commitment, so these have been completed only
for particular years for which federal, regional, and/or Vermont-specific
modeling activities required the detail of comprehensive inventories.
The particular years for which these inventories have been developed are
1975, 1990, and 1999. A specific VOC inventory for the three main source
categories of VOC in Vermont was developed for 1997.
Under newly adopted Federal Consolidated
Emissions Reporting Rules , Vermont will be developing and submitting
comprehensive emissions inventories for the criteria pollutants (CO, NOx,
SO2, VOC, PM) on a three year cycle, the next being for calendar year
2002.
