Through the Agency's investigation, it was discovered that the respondent connected the park to an unapproved water source and failed to comply with a Temporary Operating Permit. These violations of the Vermont Water Supply Rules resulted in an administrative order late last year.

The matter came to light as a result of routine agency oversight. After the investigation was completed, RMC Mobile Home Park was notified of the violations and agreed to settle the matter. It also completed the permitting process for the new source.

The settlement was reduced to an assurance of discontinuance and was so ordered by the Environmental Court on April 19, 2002. In it, RMC Mobile Home Park agreed to construct a disinfection system as specified in the new permit. It was also agreed that a civil penalty of $2,500 will be paid to the State of Vermont for the violations and that a $4,000 supplemental environmental project will be funded.
