State of Vermont January 10, 2002 Through the Agency's investigation, it was discovered that the Green Mountain Valley School, which owns a public water supply system, had failed to conduct and submit certain water quality monitoring results. It also had failed to provide public notice to the users of the system regarding its failure to monitor. The matter came to light as a result of the Agency's routine regulatory review. After the investigation was completed, the Green Mountain Valley School was notified of the violations and agreed to settle the matter. The settlement was reduced to an assurance of discontinuance and was so ordered by the Environmental Court on January 8, 2002. Prior to settlement, the Green Mountain Valley School conducted the required water quality monitoring and submitted the results to the Water Supply Division. The respondent agreed that future water quality monitoring will be done in accordance to the regulations and will fund a $2,000 a supplemental environmental project.
