All complaints regarding potential violations of Vermont's environmental laws are investigated by the Agency of Natural Resources. Some of the media specific complaints are handled by inspectors based within the appropriate program in the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). The balance, including those dealing with multiple DEC programs, are handled by the Compliance & Enforcement Division.
