  Waterbury Hydroelectric Project Informational Meeting

Description:
The Watershed Management Division of the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation along with Department of Fish and Wildlife and Department of Forest, Parks, and Recreation will hold an informational meeting for the public and stakeholders of the Waterbury Hydroelectric Project regarding the Water Quality Certification. The Agency of Natural Resources approval that the hydroelectric project operated by Green Mountain Power meets water quality standards is need before a new license can be issued by Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. At this meeting, the Agency, will be seeking input from the public before reaching a decision on Green Mountain Powers application.

Loon to Lynx: Protecting Nature and Preparing for the Future - Symposium in Honor of the 40th Anniversary of the Endangered Species Act - Thursday Oct. 23, 2014. The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) invites you to an all-day symposium that celebrates the legacy of the Endangered Species Act and Vermont's experience protecting our most vulnerable species. Keynote speakers—Joe Roman, Author and Hardy Fellow in Conservation Biology, Harvard University and Collin O’Mara, President and CEO, National Wildlife Federation—and panels of experts will examine the future for conservation biology and discuss the challenges ahead for preserving Vermont's natural heritage. There is a $15.00 fee for Loon to Lynx which includes a buffet lunch. Please see pre-registration information at link shown above.
