State of Vermont Press Release September 03, 2002 Through the Agency's investigation, it was discovered that Gordon, in the course of doing business, drilled several wells in various locations in the St. Albans area and in Hinesburg without a well drilling license. He also failed to affix identification tags to wells and send well reports to the Water Supply Division within ninety days of completing construction, as required by state law for new and serviced wells. The matter came to light as a result of a citizen complaint that was investigated by Environmental Enforcement Officer Reg Smith. After the investigation was completed, Gordon was notified of the violations and agreed to settle the matter. The settlement was reduced to an assurance of discontinuance and was so ordered by the Environmental Court on August 2, 2002. In it, Gordon agreed to comply with the applicable regulations and fund a $5,000 supplemental environmental project.
