Lead and Copper Resources

Lead Public Education Resources

Lead & Copper in Drinking Water: Resources for Schools and Daycare Centers
These resources are made available to water system operators who manage school and child care facilities that meet the definition of a public water system and therefore must comply with the Lead & Copper Rule requirements. Compliance for schools and child care facilities, like other Community and Non-Community, Non-Transient Public Water Systems, is based on the actual rule language.

Because children spend so much time in schools and in daycare facilities and because their bodies are developing so rapidly, it is important to provide safe drinking water to avoid health problems linked to lead and/or copper exposure.
