The Information Management Services of
the VT Agency of Natural Resources, in cooperation with the U.S. Geological
Survey, developed digital protocols for creating PC ARC/INFO coverages
of the bedrock data. All database files were developed on an IBM compatible
personal computer (DOS) format) and are in PC ARC/INFO format. The VGS
and USGS open-file digital bedrock maps in this catalog are
available on a single CDROM for $10.00. Free data may also be downoaded
directly from the VCGI
HOMEPAGE. Beginning in 2006, the bedrock data for new maps is distributed
as geodb files and the data are available through our office. Order
paper maps through the Vermont Geological Survey. The maps
do not contain complete geologic information and have not been reviewed
for conformity with VGS editorial standards. Any use of trade names
is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply endorsement by the
U.S. government or by the State of Vermont.
