Welcome to the
Waste Management Division |
The Waste Management Division oversees
the use, treatment and handling of hazardous and solid wastes. The Division
performs emergency response for hazardous materials spills, issues permits
for federal and state programs regulating hazardous wastes, solid wastes,
and underground storage tanks, and manages cleanup at hazardous sites
under state and federal authorities, including the Resource Conservation
and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation
and Liability Act (CERCLA, also known as Superfund).

| If you cannot find what you are looking for through the WM-ID, appointments to review division files can be made by
calling Cheryl Hamilton at (802) 241-3443. The Division receives many
requests for information and does require an appointment. These are generally
scheduled for 9am or 1pm and must be completed by 4pm. |

Flood Response and Clean Up
The Agency of Natural Resources' main offices in Waterbury sustained heavy damage from flooding during Hurricane Irene. Our Waterbury staff will temporarily be working from alternate sites and our Regional Offices are open. The Agency of Natural Resources has compiled information to assist citizens with flood clean up and mitigation. We hope you find this information useful.
