Waste Management
Waste Management Interactive Database (WMID)
Summary
The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is pleased to announce the release of Waste Management Interactive Database or WM-ID. This web-based tool enables the public to access up-to-date environmental information compiled and monitored by the Department. Property specific information concerning contaminated groundwater sites, hazardous materials spills, and regulated underground storage tank facilities located in Vermont can now be accessed through the WM-ID. This information is helpful to community groups and private sector business interests such as real estate, banking or environmental consulting. Users can tailor their search by entering one or a combination of search criterion to narrow down results or produce a specific list of records. In addition to the improved search and query functionality, the database is updated on a daily basis.

Looking to the future…
The WM-ID allows for databases to easily integrate to a web-based format presentation. The possibility of adding other databases exists and is currently being explored. Eventually, we hope to relate records both within and outside of separate databases, allowing for a more encompassing situational assessment of each site. Feedback from various users will be collected and enhancements will be an ongoing task.
