DEC SOLID WASTE REGULATIONS

Composting of most materials is covered by the Solid Waste Management Rules. The exceptions are farm animal manures and used animal bedding. Smaller operations that do not include human waste are covered under Subchapter 11. Large operations come under the same set of rules as other solid waste facilities.
