Compliance Assistance

The hazardous waste program provides technical assistance by: responding to telephone inquiries; answering questions while at inspections; publishing facts sheets and guidance; and coordinating and presenting workshops and other educational presentations. For telephone assistance, call (802) 241-3888 and request a hazardous waste (RCRA) program staff member. Printed materials can be found below.

The VT DEC Conditionally Exempt Generator (CEG) On-line Course includes quizzes for users to test their knowledge, as well as many other useful links. Register with the site and a Certificate of Completion will be awarded when you have successfully finished the course. The site also maintains a Virtual Hazardous Waste Storage Area where you can also test your knowledge.

Solid Waste Management Districts - SW Districts can accept universal wastes from all Vermont businesses and can also accept hazardous wastes from conditionally exempt generators.
