How do I enter a state record fish?
Check the All Time Records database to see how your fish measures up to the largest recorded fish.
Caught and released fish are not eligible for State Record consideration. Fish must be harvested in order to be weighed on a certified scale and kept for inspection by a department Fisheries Biologist.
Fill out a Vermont State Record Fish Entry Form, available at Fish & Wildlife offices statewide and from state Game Wardens or download a copy from our website

Entry Rules
Fish must be weighed on state inspected scales, any market scales are suggested.
Length and girth measurements and a photo of the fish are required.
The body of water where the fish was caught must be listed.
A department fisheries biologist must inspect the fish.
The fish must be fresh or frozen when inspected. Mounted fish will not do.
Entry forms and photo must be submitted within six months of the capture date.
